Rock the Park 8 ..... $155,000 !!
Wow …. You did it again London!! Combining our 210 dedicated Volunteers, Brad Jones, OMAC Mortgages, Domino’s Pizza, OLG Slots, Molson Coors Canada, Oxford Dodge Chrysler Jeep, Rogers and the terrific Team at Corus Entertainment “Rock the Park 8” raised nearly $155,000. This brings our eight year total to over $1,200,000 for Bethanys Hope Leukodystrophy Research Laboratory located right here in London!
Thank-you to our great friend and long-time partner, Mr. Brad Jones, President of the Jones Entertainment Group. For over eight years now Brad and his family have worked tirelessly for the children and families of Leukodystrophy. Through all their efforts we have been able to maintain the cutting-edge Leukodystrophy Research at our London Laboratory. We will never forget the sacrifices they have made over the years to ensure we find the cure we all so desperately seek! Thank-you so very much!
What a week-end…..we thank all the 20,000 screaming fans that joined us in beautiful, hot Harris Park for three fabulous nights of rock! We especially want to thank all the dedicated fans who braved the rains on Saturday evening to rock with the Stone Temple Pilots! From July 21st thru July 23rd these dedicated rockers from Toronto, Detroit, Buffalo, Chicago, Montreal, Thunder Bay, Quebec City and all around the great City of London enjoyed another fabulous Rock the Park Festival! They came to rock with the likes of Trooper, Loverboy, Poison, Cheap Trick, Meatloaf, Sloan and Our Lady Peace!
Events like Rock the Park would not be possible without great Volunteers and Corporate Sponsorship and we were very fortunate to have the best. We are deeply grateful to the men and women who came out each day for a week to brave the heat to ensure the Park was ready to Rock each day! A special thank-you to Julie MacIntyre, Ed Oelke, Fred Werner, Cristin Campbell, Jordan McIntyre, Mike Elliot, Penny Maillard, Brett McIntyre, Alex Schadlinger, Todd Robertson, Vaughn Robertson, Ben McIntyre, Steve Morrison, John Calder, Derek Matchett, Marilyn Scott, Michael Scott and Nathaniel McIntyre. We have a special place in our hearts for the Team in our Comfort Zone including Barb Fedor, Bruce Walls Marilyn Scott, Crystal Reinert, Stephen Pauser and Denise Dobbyn who worked so hard in the heat to provide delicious meals for all our great Volunteers and Security Staff. A very special debt of gratitude to Bruce and Stephen, our week-end BBQ Team who must have lost at least 50 pounds each at the Festival! We had the best Corporate Sponsors for Rock the Park 8 as well as some local heroes who very generously donated time/talent or products to ensure we were all safe, cool and happy. A special thanks to Mr. Kirk Thompson of CanAm RV for the beautiful “air-conditioned” trailers, Mr. Ren Seguin of R. & C. Seguin Distribution for the Breyers ice-cream treats, Mr. Bruce Lively from BlueJay Irrigation for the stage water lines to keep the fans cool, Ms. Kim Collins from Maple Leaf Foods, Canada Bread as well as our Volunteer Sponsor, Cohen-Highley Lawyers.
